We have,
C1:x2+y2−4x−2y=α−5C1:(x−2)2+(y−1)5−5=α−5C1:(x−2)2+(y−1)2=(α)2
So, centre and radius of C1 are (2,1) and α respectively
Now, image of (2,1) along the line y=2x+1 is,
2x−2=−1y−1=22+(−1)2−2(4−1+1)⇒2x−2=−1y−1=5−8⇒x=5−6y=513
Now, (5−6,513) will be the centre of C2∴f=56g=5−13
Now, radius of C2=r=f2+g2−536⇒r=2536+25169−536=1∵r=1α=1∴α+r=1+1=2
Concept :
Image of a point (x1,y1) w.r.t. ax+by+c=0 is (x,y), then
ax−x1=by−y1=(a2+b2)−2(ax1+by1+c)
