If the arithmetic mean of two numbers a and b, a>b>0, is five times their geometric mean, then a−ba+b is equal to:

Official solution
2a+b=5ab⇒a+b=10ab. Let t=a/b>1; dividing by b: t2+1=10t, i.e. t2−10t+1=0, so t=5+26 (taking t>1).
Then ba=t2=49+206=10−4610+46 (check: this ratio equals 100−96(10+46)2=4196+806=49+206 ).
By componendo--dividendo, with a:b=(10+46):(10−46),
\[\frac{a+b}{a-b}=\frac{20}{8\sqrt{6}}=\frac{5}{2\sqrt{6}}=\frac{5\sqrt{6}}{12}.\]
