We have,
5f(x)+4f(x1)=x1+3,x>0 ..........(i)
On replacing x by x1 in (i), we get
5f(x1)+4f(x)=x+3 ..........(ii)
Now, using Eq. (i) ×5− (ii) ×4, we get
25f(x)−16f(x)=(x5+15)−(4x+12)⇒9f(x)=x5−4x+3⇒f(x)=91(x5−4x+3)...........(iii)∴18∫21f(x)dx=18∫2191(x5−4x+3)dx=2∫21(x5−4x+3)dx=2[5logex−4(2x2)+3x]21=2[(5loge2−2(2)2+3(2))−(5log1−2(1)2+3(1))]=2[5loge2−8+6+2−3][∵log1=0]=10loge2−6
