Given region,
S=(x,y):2y−y2≤x2≤2y,x≥y
Here, we have three curves
2y−y2=x2..........(i)x2=2y..........(2)x=y...........(3)
From Eq. (i),
x2+y2−2y=0⇒x2+(y−1)2=1 is a circle with centre (0,1) and radius is 1.
Intersection points of Equations (i) and (iii) are,
2x−x2=x2⇒2x2=2x⇒x(x−1)=0⇒x=0,1x=0y=0x=1y=1∴ Required points are (0,0) and (1,1).
Also, intersection points of (ii) and (iii)
x2=2x⇒x(x−2)=0⇒x=0,2x=0y=0x=2y=2∴(0,0)(2,2)∴ Required area = Area of triangle - Area of part I - Area of part II
